Our 4th of July Weekend

We are enjoying our lazy 4th of July weekend.  Nic has a 96 and today, Tuesday, he still has off so we have plans to go to the aquarium in about an hour (around 11:30).  We expect it to take us an hour and a half to get there, which is crazy when you think about just how small this island really is!  An annual pass costs the same as two tickets and since we don't have to pay for the boys we'll probably invest and just be sure to go a few more times before this time next year :)  This is the 2nd biggest aquarium in the world!  We're excited to finally get a day to go - the boys especially.

The boys..... they have been fighting nonstop lately.  It mostly consists of Maximus doing something that ticks off  or "scares" Colton who then runs away screaming or chases Maximus screaming.  There's usually a lot of screaming and tackling involved and its beginning to drive us pretty insane.  It's getting to the point where we feel like we're constantly yelling at them to "stop."  Hopefully they'll grow out of this fighting nonstop phase soon!!! *please*

On the fourth we took the kids to see Toy Story 3.  They loved it and say nicely the whole time, engrossed.  The loved the first - I don't think they ever saw the 2nd, but no matter.  It was good.  We had dinner at the food court on Kadena (the Air Force Base here) and then headed over to where Kadena had everything set up for the Fourth.  The kids had fun going down huge blow-up slides, bouncing in the bouncers, and Maximus even did some wall climbing! (the helmet wouldn't stay on, and the side of the wall he was on had the hand grips too far spaced apart, so Nic ended up just lifting him high in the air so he could "propell" down - he loved it!)  The fireworks were pretty good too.  It was just so immensely hot and humid that it was almost miserable - but not quite.  And it was VERY crowded (since this was the only fireworks on the island on the 4th). We were only there for maybe 2 hours?  I don't know if we could have lasted longer!

We finally finished painting the rest of our house this weekend!  It feels so good to be finally done with that!  And the bedrooms look SO SO SO much better and brighter.  Still waiting on our furniture from Yellow Box - once we get them I'll be sure to take photos and post them.

Time to get ready to go the aquarium - get the kids dressed, eat lunch, pack the car with whatever we'll need ... Hope everyone had a great 4th of July & God bless America!!
