Hoping for a PCS to Miramar

Well, we've been crunching numbers and researching our options and there is no way we could afford to move out to 29 Palms with Nic. Just renting a U-Haul would cost us close to $2,000 and that's not including gas (and those trucks get 7mpg!) or any packing material. It's basically not going to happen.

Our other option (of staying together) doesn't look very feasible either. It's still a possibility but not very likely. I don't know if we could live out of a suitcase for 3 months and afford a furnished apartment.

So that leaves us hoping and praying we get a PCS (permanent change of station) to Miramar, CA - which would be only 3 hours from 29 Palms.

Assuming we don't get CA as a duty station, right now we're looking at living apart from January - March. We'll probably move to our duty station after graduation and the boys and I will live there while Nic does his MOS training. Not the best case scenario, but it's better to assume the worst!
