We've been staying busy as usual with our day to day routine. The boys started swim lessons this week. I almost didn't sign up Colton because in a way I feel like it's a waste of money, but I figured if anything it would be great one-on-one time since he never gets it. And he's actually improved a LOT since we started on Monday. On Monday he clung to me - arms around the neck, legs wrapped around my waist - and after 5 days he actually likes the part when he dunk them under the water, he loves "swimming" on his tummy kicking and blowing bubbles (me/Nic holding him at his waist) and he actually lets us have him float on his back. He LOVES jumping in to us from the side of the pool. His favorite part is going to the baby pool. The pool here on Camp Kinser has 2 circular baby pools - 1FT and 2FT. He loves the 1FT because he can walk on his hands and splash and "fall" into the water. (which is basically what he does when we go to the beach.
Maximus does SO WELL. He is literally a fish. It's him, another 4 year old boy and their instructor. They meet for 25 minutes in the 3FT and he absolutely LOVES showing off what he can do. Sometimes he gets so excited that it's hard for him to listen to the lifeguard and do what she says, but since it's such a small class it's not a problem. He can swim underwater for about 6FT at a time and he has started to try to use his arms out of the water while he's under the water - as if he's doing the freestyle/crawl, but in the end he ends up looking like a child that is drowning LOL. He's been doing a LOT of underwater swimming this week and he's been complaining about his eyes hurting - I KNOW he opens them so from now on he's going to have to wear goggles when we go swimming. They both have 2 more sessions left and I'll try to get some pictures of Maximus swimming or a video clip...
